  1. “American Life” meets Parker county. I really liked it. You have to include at least a passing reference to “Coffee Bar Cult” I am sure Mike remembers them….

  2. Well done guys! Can’t wait for the next episode.

  3. Excellent podcast! Makes me truly glad that I didn’t get to hear Average Deep until you figured out that guitars (and those low voices) were the way to go. Can’t wait to hear the next episode.

  4. What a cool and entertaining way to tell your story. Looking forward to the next installment…

  5. This is hands down the greatest podcast i have ever listened to EVER. Seriously. This should be on NPR. It was a hysterical, heartbreaking, heartWARMing and an extraordinarily well told and artfully presented slice of real life.

Seen from multiple angles, the podcast captures beautifully the age, the personalities and the locale of a group of alienated youngsters humorously striking out to form their first band. It’s the Commitments, but from Weatherford Texas and with a awesomely dry humor.

    My new favorite thing.

This is fantastic – coming from another small town High School, albeit several years earlier, this sounds so familiar….Can’t wait for more.

When we recorded tonight, I had no idea what to expect of this podcast. It’s absolutely brilliant. It’s 2:50 in the a.m., I’m fried, yet I could not pull myself away from listening. Once again, you’ve outdone yourself. Thank you for keeping the music alive in me. You know what I mean.
    You ROCK.

Wow, guys! LOVED listening to your stories! Really took me back to the day! I look back and realize how twisted high school was!

I can’t wait for future episodes!

  9. Thanks for all the kind words, everyone! I’m not the producer, but I manage the website and am a subject of the podcast, and it’s really satisfying to hear how so many people love our story and the magnificent way Matthew tells it.

@Janet: http://thematthewshow.com is a great place to find out how well Matthew has learned that lesson. :)

@Donna: Yeah, I think this is a relatively universal experience that just hasn’t been told before.

Everyone: Please subscribe to make sure to hear the new podcast and the new single when it comes out soon.

Thanks again for the terrific comments!
@Ralph and @Carrie: A new episode is imminent. I know Matthew’s been working hard on it.

@paulmsl: That would be a terrific review to put up on iTunes. :)

  10. Must hear the next! Hooked….
